About the Pearls
#J2P
Just 2 Pearls
In the summer of 2016, two graduate school friends had an idea. They wanted to create a community in which young Christian women like themselves could come to laugh, cry, be inspired, and grow together as they sought to cultivate their personal and professional lives in the context of the 21st Century. So, they created Just2Pearls, a podcast that allows them publicly to laugh, cry, inspire, and grow by chatting about everything from faith to love to relationships to feminism to politics to pop culture and everything in between and they do it all in pearls. Through the podcast, the women of J2P pray that you will cultivate the pearl within you!
Meet Jaimie
Jaimie is a perky, nerdy, fast-talking, Southern, pearly feminista, black woman transplanted to New England. She is a 2012 graduate of Wellesley College and has two Masters degrees from Yale. Through her work, she seeks to liberate women, especially black Christian women from the narrow definitions the United States has assigned them. Jaimie was ordained to Christian ministry in 2015. She believes that the Gospel exists as a challenge and corrective to us and that we are at our best when we find ways to confront the hard truths of our past and our present. Meet Porsha
Porsha is an urban and unapologetic 21st century black woman. She wakes up and slays every single day in a world that was not created for her. She is an ordained Baptist preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and serves as the Pastoral Resident of the Mount Aery Baptist Church in Bridgeport, CT. She is a Spelman Woman and a Yale graduate. She is a Finer Woman of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc and she has the heart of a scholar. In true womanist fashion, Porsha has learned to love the sound of her own voice, the glow of her skin, the brilliance of her brain, and the boldness of her spirit when others wouldn’t (or couldn’t).
